STORYTELLER AT HEART
As a child, I have to admit I didn't like reading or writing, or maybe I should say I didn't like following the rules.

As a little kid, if it was my turn to read part of a picture book, I'd simply look at the pictures and create my own story on the spot. Did people know that what I was saying wasn't what was written? Probably. But did I confidently portray (with my impeccable facial expressions and tone) that what I was saying was indeed in the book? Yes. Yes, I did.

Despite not enjoying reading, I loved stories. As I got older, to pass the time, I'd create stories in my head based on history lessons I'd just learned. Sometimes I'd make sequels to Marvel movies in my head where I was the main character who had multiple powers. That's probably why my mom complained about a lot of dishes being misplaced. What can I say? A girl's got to do what she can to make doing the dishes more interesting.

I grew fond of writing in middle school when I started researching topics I was interested in. I'd spend hours researching historical figures like Denmark Vesey, Samson, Esther, and different countries like Guatemala. I would envision people's lives, what they ate, and how they may have reacted to their surroundings and trials. Putting all these elements on paper to share with my parents felt special (I was homeschooled :) ).
Being homeschooled from pre-k to high school gave me the opportunity and freedom to explore my love for stories, reading, and writing in my own unique time.

Nowadays, I write poetry and flash fiction mostly on personal lessons, nature, and culture. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and talking to my bunny (but she doesn't talk back).

Haha
This is my bunny, HaHa. She likes to sleep, eat, zoom around the room, and nudge my ankle under my desk while I'm writing.
